Black People
Black people and communities were obviously a focal point of the LA 1992 events. With centuries of racial oppression from all institutions in the country, some view their actions as justified means of protest against a system set against them. Others view them as disruptions to the order and peace of society, and are the root of their own problems. In what ways do these images portray Black people, and how do they relate to common perceptions or misconceptions of them in U.S. American discourse?
